spotted: men’s shoes with a hit of color 09.28.2012

we spotted this in the window at Cole Haan this weekend and just about flipped out! It’s so refreshing to see men’s shoes getting to have as much fun as women’s! LOVE the little hits of color in the soles and laces–they’re even better in person, although a wee bit on the pricey side. Check ‘em out here!

yesterday’s photo shoot 09.26.2012

So, if you’re following along with us on facebook or twitter or instagram (morgan/carrie) (which, of course, you should be), you might’ve picked up on what we were dong yesterday!

We had a SUPER exciting photoshoot!!!

We have been crazy ladies lately: sewing, styling, organizing and even prepping food, as you can see above, for this shoot featuring all of the designs in our new fabric line (see our announcement here)!!!!! The photos will be used for promotional pieces like brochures so we can share some ideas of what you can make with our fabrics! We decided that the possibilities are pretty endless.

The theme of our fabric collection is “Cream & Sugar” and it’s focused on all things TEA!!

So, we got samples of our fabric and started sewing….everything from aprons to oven mitts, even a pair of shorts! We had some very sweet friends and family members pitching in with the sewing  (we’ll be giving you full details later) in order for us to get it all done in time! And we quickly brushed up on our own sewing skills that have not been used as much as we’d like lately. We were lucky enough to have some friends and family as models for the day and also super lucky to have the most darling location to shoot in and the greatest photographer ever!! As soon as we can share all of the real photos, we will also share the details of all the wonderful people we would like to thank…but for now, we just wanted to give you a little sneak peak into our world yesterday!

And….IT’S A WRAP!!!

trend watch: black & blue 09.18.2012

Here’s one trend from fashion week that we’re loving: black and blue together. It’s such an easy look to pull off in so many ways. Here are a few ideas:

1. Swishing Gears Dress, 2. Ink Blazer, 3. Yardley Pump, 4. Demure the Merrier Dress, 5. ‘Madison’ Clutch, 6. Idol Burnout Top, 7. Czarina Knee High Boots

Blue+black is such a chic combo! I feel like it’s a frowned-up combination, kinda like brown+black, but rules were meant to be broken.. right?? :)

outtakes & updates 09.12.2012

Hi friends! We thought it was high time we shared a little update with you!

You might’ve noticed things are a little different around here…and by different, we mean, the posting on the blog has gotten a little more seldom. We pour our heart and soul into our posts and spend a lot of time scouring the the web, magazines, and the real world for great things to share with you, but we are needing to cut back a little bit to catch up on our workload. We don’t want to sacrifice the quality of posts we do by forcing ourselves to do them when we don’t have enough time to do the quality we want….so, the posting has become a little less frequent, but hopefully still great eye candy and inspiration for you all! We so appreciate our readers and love the relationships we’ve built through this blog, so we hope you keep coming back!

On a side note…we thought we’d share a few outtakes from the photo shoot for our bio photo! Clearly, we were having a good time! Thanks again to Emily Perkins and Erin Cobb for being our photographers!
