Pattern Peek: House of Earnest 05.25.2012

We are excited to be wrapping up the week with one last pattern peek from Erin of House of Earnest! House of Earnest is brimming with inspiration for home, handmade projects and party style. We could (and do) spend hours on Erin’s site because there is just so much goodness to take in! We love seeing a little glimpse into Erin’s own home and we weren’t surprised to see her cool style showing through in the photos she sent. Here’s Erin’s take on the patterns shown above:

Photo #1: Graphic pillow on sheepskin.  I made this pillow from a Target napkin and couldn’t be happier.  Sometimes when you’ll looking for something specific, you just have to get creative!

Photo#2: My Master bedroom textiles.  Serene, not too feminine, and neutral.

Photo #3: My guest bedroom textiles.  Various yellows are grounded by metallic bronze accents.

Thanks, Erin, for joining us and thanks to all of our lovely contributors the last few weeks for helping us keep up with the blog while we were away at Surtex! Have a great weekend, everyone!

spotted: patterned bedding at urban outfitters 04.12.2012

So, yes, we are pattern designers, therefore naturally, we have no fear of pattern in our homes…but we have a little something that just might make everyone feel at home with pattern! Have you seen all of the great textiles at Urban Outfitters? Seriously, we could style a whole room around each and every one of these awesome bedding choices! Aren’t they fun?

    >Love these! I recently switched my colorful Anthropologie quilt for white bedding…but now after seeing these I'm second guessing that choice!

    >Oh no, there is definitely a place for all white! Maybe it's best to have both so you can trade out depending on your mood :)

baby & kids: lucky boy sunday 04.05.2012

I don’t even know what to say about Lucky Boy Sunday. The cuteness has rendered me (almost) speechless. What I wouldn’t give for that blanket and…all of it, really. We’re not gonna sugarcoat it here, these lovelies are spendy. The upside (along with getting to stare lovingly at your new favorite object in your home) is that they are produced in Bolivia by talented women who live in an extremely poor area. They are given a good job and a fair price. Please be sure to read the “about” section of Camilla and Camilla’s website (the creators of Lucky Boy Sunday). It’s charming. Lucky Boy Sunday is available in the US through Huset and Thumbeline.

We like the idea of giving a little graphic punch to our pastels….so, here is our take one of spring’s hot shades! Peach plus black & white! Kinda fun, right?

house & home: get the look 03.15.2012

You might’ve seen this comfy, bohemian-modern dining area on pinterest, yes? Did you get the urge to start over on your entire house? yes? Well we did, too! This room was done by the insanely talented Amber Interiors and we just had to attempt to bring some of this stunning style into our own homes! Picking just one or two of these pieces and combining them with things we already have is the route we want to take! Hope you like these ideas and go check out Amber Interiors portfolio!
