Ink Magazine’s KC Tastemaker Gift Guide 2012 11.23.2012

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! For our Kansas City friends, we just wanted to make sure you guys got to see the Ink Magazine Holiday Gift Guide! We were part of a group of local Kansas City “Tastemakers” that got to put together a pretty fab (if we do say so ourselves) round-up of gifts from Kansas City’s best of the best!! We’ll share the full gift guide here next week, but if you get a chance, pick one up an Ink as you are headed out to shop this weekend!

on the lookout: fall cocktail dresses 10.30.2012

Well, I (Carrie) am super-excited because I have my cousin’s wedding this weekend. My cousin and I are almost exactly one year apart (with just two days and one year between our birthdays), and we were roommates for a few years when I first bought my house. I’m so happy for him and his lovely bride, and I figure, what better way to show it than by attending his wedding in a super cute dress. Just kidding, but I do kind of have the itch to get a new one. I’m normally drawn to bright colors, but for some reason, I’m craving something neutral that fills the of what-the-heck-do-you-wear-to-a-cool-weather-wedding niche. Anyone have a vote on the winner?

on the lookout: zara home 10.09.2012

It was years ago when the two of us studied abroad in England that we first fell in love with Zara! Their clothes were always ahead of the curve, great design, well-made AND just happened to be at reasonable prices! That’s pretty hard to find. So, when we later discovered Zara Home we about flipped out, but it’s never been available in the US until now!!! They just launched their online shop today and they have such a great mix of basics, beautiful neutrals and metallics, but also some great hits of color! If you hadn’t heard yet…you’re welcome :)
