California Dreamin' modern nursery

Hey everyone, Morgan here! I'm taking over the blog today to share the nursery I created for my second little boy, Lennon!

I wanted the room to have a calming feeling with a cool vibe, so, naturally, I went with a little bit of a beachy theme! We already had the crib, dresser/changing table and bookshelf from when we first did this room for our now-four-year-old son. So I worked with the white and natural wood and mixed in some indigo blue, sea foam green and natural textures! And of course, I'm a total pattern lover, so there are plenty of those thrown in on the pillows, pouf, changing pad and simple stripe sheets! Check back here later today for the full mood board and product round-up! Lennon's California Dreamin' nursery turned out to be the most perfect fit for his cool, laid-back personality. I suppose we did get to know him a bit since I didn't actually finish the nursery until a couple of months after he was born! All of these beautiful photos were taken by the one and only Allison Corrin Photography. She is such a joy to partner with! Thanks to Allison for capturing these little moments in time!

I found the sheets, changing pad cover, and cool, modern nautical pillows at Unison Home! Have you guys checked out their site? I fell in love with their modern patterns for home decor and I was SO glad to discover they had things for baby & kids, too!

And YOU GUYS! This color weave toy box from The Land of Nod adds the most perfect natural texture and color to the room! I kept feeling like something was missing until this guy showed up and thens suddenly, it felt complete!!

This baby gym from Ikea has been such a bit hit and it's so affordable! Highly recommend it! The cool part is, when your babe starts sitting up, the little colored pieces on the top move back and forth and can be pulled up and down, too...so this little gym can stay with you through a few play stages. And, THIS RUG (from Nod, of course) !!!!!!! It's seriously the softest, most luxurious texture! Perfect for a nursery because if you are anything like us, we spend a lot of time on the floor!

I couldn't love this mini banner more! It's by Sharp Tooth Studio on Etsy and I can't help but love that the artist is originally from Kansas City, too!

I'm a sucker for a gallery wall! When I saw this whale clock, I knew it was the perfect addition to the rest of the art I had collected! (Check the next post for the full mood board and source links)

These Uncle Goose modern wooden blocks are getting passed down from Shaw to Lennon. Thank goodness for wooden toys that last!

And moments like THIS happening inside this tiny little nursery. I can hardly handle it. My heart could literally explode when I see my two boys playing together! I could never have imagined the instant bond that these two would have, it still surprises me each day. Thanks again to Allison Corrin Photography for capturing these little moments!
