Introducing our new fabric line: "Cream & Sugar"
Oh, we are SO excited to finally share, "Cream & Sugar" our debut fabric collection with Windham Fabrics!! We fell in love with all things tea-related when we studied abroad together in England, so we were thrilled to design a collection around this passion! If you pretend you just got invited to the happiest, most colorful tea party in town, then you pretty much get the picture! We put together a little photo shoot full of goodies made out of our fabrics to give you all some ideas for your next project, using the "Cream & Sugar" fabrics, of course! We hope our fabrics will add some color and fun to your next party and in your home!
we've got the perfect patterns for all kinds of fun kitchen and tabletop accessories like fabric napkins (mix & match, of course), coasters, cup cozies, place mats, tea pot covers and oven mitts! But the fun doesn't have to stop in the kitchen...we made sure to design some patterns that would spice up your closet, as well!
And, we couldn't forget the little ones! We worked hard to ensure we included just the right prints for the kiddos, because, we all know how much they love a good tea party!
The very first thing we made with the samples of our fabrics were these aprons (which we are also wearing in the last shot)! It was truly a bit of a dream come true to be sitting down at our sewing machines, putting stitches into our very own patterns on fabric! Eeks! It still doesn't seem real!
(psst...the vintage mug in this picture is what inspired the entire collection!!)

We really hope you've enjoyed checking out the photos from our fabric projects--hopefully it will inspire you to make some fun things of your own! The collection is available for your local fabric store to order NOW, and will hopefully be in those fabric stores in Spring 2013! Windham Fabrics will be debuting this collection at International Quilt Market 2012 in Houston, October 27-29! You can see the collection online here, and read our designer bio here. All 16 swatches of the collection, including the solid colors are shown below.
Now we have some major THANK YOUs that we'd like to share!!!
First of all, the biggest thank you to the Windham Fabrics team. You are all so great to work with and we couldn't be happier that we get to partner with you!
Next we'd like to thank our friends and family who helped us with the sewing. We would like to think we could've sewn all of these projects ourselves, but that is far from the truth. Carrie's mom, Susan, made the darling striped dress and clocked some hours on apron-assistance. Morgan's mom made the too-cute shorts, that were no easy task. And our friend, Robin, of The Robin's Nest made the darling little girl's pink skirt and flower hair pin! She also has an etsy shop where you can check out some of her other handy work!
A huge thanks to our amazing models. We so appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to help us! We owe you!
The smokin' hot ladies are Michelle Henderson of Second Street East fame and artist & designer Sarah Anderson Walsh.
The cute kiddos are our very own nieces, Emma & Sydney! A huge thanks to their moms (and families) for letting them model for us! It means the world to us to have them included, along with our sons!
You might have noticed a few sweet treats scattered throughout the shots, those colorful macarons are handmade by Morgan's mom, Barbara, of Au Bon Macaron. Thanks for sharing the goodies!
Cheers to Lindsay Laricks of Little Freshie for letting us take over her most perfect little shop for the afternoon! It was our dream location, and she let our dream come true :)
Thank you to Pryde's Old Westport for the perfect tea-related props! We knew that only you guys would have exactly what we were looking for!
Thanks to the most helpful gals at our local Madewell store in Town Center! You can find some darling Madewell pieces in the photos above like the bright blue dress (photo of brown journal), and the green dress and white silk shirt that we are wearing in the last photo!
Biggest thanks to our insanely talented photographer for bringing out vision to life!! Eric Linebarger actually took our ideas and made them ten times better! Eric, you are ridiculously good at what you do, and we were so lucky to get to collaborate with you on this project! It means the world to us that you made these photos look as good as they do!!! Thanks for the time you spent and the constant use of the "awesomeness-filter" which you apparently don't know how to turn off.
And last but not least, thanks to our husbands for listening to us dream up this fabric collection, patiently wait for us to come to bed after late nights on the computer, pretend not to hear the sewing machine running 24 hours a day, and for all the extra things you did to let us complete our very first fabric collection and a long-time dream! You guys are the best and we never would've been able to do this without you!
