introducing sydney

So, today marks 4 weeks that we've had the pleasure of knowing our little lady, Sydney, and I thought it was high time I formally introduce her! Having a girl was a huge surprise to me as I was certain she was going to be a boy! That makes me 0 for 2 in guessing the sex of my babies, and in both cases, I felt "completely sure" I knew. Hearing her cry for the first time was the best feeling! I had been skeptical while I was pregnant that I could ever love another baby ask much as my first and I was delighted to discover that your love really does just multiply (many people had told me this, but it was something I had to feel to believe). I was also concerned about how Emmett would handle having a sibling, and while he's acting out here and there, none of it is directed at "Syd-Syd" as he likes to call her. He's even let us know that she is his "best buddy," and he gives her kisses and hugs that make me wonder if she'll survive out of infancy. Life has felt a bit chaotic as we adjust to life as a family of four, but we are just crazy in love with our little crew and thanking our lucky stars for them every day! —Carrie
