Shaw turns 3!!
It's Morgan coming at you today and I'm here to share a few little snapshots of my son's little third birthday celebration! I seriously can hardly believe that we have a three year old! Every new stage we enter, I tend to think it's my favorite...and that holds true for age three. It's my favorite so far. I love the creativity, imagination and personality that I can see in Shaw each day. This is the first year that he was really getting this whole birthday thing and he was counting down the days for weeks! Last year, one of this favorite fall activities was visiting the pumpkin patch, so we planned to go again and invite a few friends!
The kids...and some adults...hopped on a train ride and got to play on an old firetruck (two of Shaw's favorite things). Then we headed out on a tractor-pulled wagon ride to pick our very own pumpkins! Check out our tractor-driver, he couldn't be more perfect, could he?
And then it was time to eat! We kept it super-casual and Dan and I made some sack lunches the night before. Shaw had requested strawberry cake with cream cheese icing and the birthday boy's wish was granted. I love how our sweet boy gets shy when all the attention is on him, so I'm not going to complain that he wanted me to help him blow out his big "3" candle! I just hope his wishes come true!
We sent each friend home with a pumpkin-painting kid including paint brushes, paint, foam stickers and, of course, googly eyes!
